Something In Me Already Knew
Something in Me Already Knew.
June 2026
I have been building something.
Quietly, mostly. In the gaps between everything else. In the early mornings and the late nights and the moments when I should have been doing something more practical. I have been building Nicole Benson Studio, and today it is real enough to say out loud.
I want to be honest about what this has been like. Starting a business is not a linear thing. It is not a clean narrative of inspiration followed by execution followed by success. It is messy and nonlinear and full of days where you question everything, including yourself. I have had those days. I am still having them.
And underneath all of it, something has been steady. A knowing that this work matters. That the intersection I occupy, voice, body, breath, sound, the place where music education meets somatic practice, is not a niche I accidentally wandered into. It is where I have always lived. It took me a while to trust that enough to build a business around it.
I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I have stood on stages across the world, in cathedrals and concert halls and recording studios. I have spent years working with students and clients whose needs asked me to be more than a teacher, to be present, to follow what the body was asking for, to trust that music could move what words could not reach. I have done that work quietly for a long time. Nicole Benson Studio is me deciding to do it out loud.
What I am offering is not easy to describe in a single sentence, which is part of why it took me this long to launch. It is private sessions in voice, breath, and somatic practice. It is music lessons for anyone who wants to learn. It is group cohorts for people who want to do this kind of work in community. It is a space that holds all of it, shaped entirely by whoever walks through the door.
I am excited. Genuinely, quietly, terrifyingly excited. Not the loud kind of excited that needs an announcement. The kind that sits in your chest and makes it hard to sleep. The kind that feels like standing at the edge of something you have been walking toward for a long time without knowing it.
If you are reading this, something brought you here. I do not think that is an accident. If you are curious about the work, reach out. If you are not ready yet, bookmark this and come back when you are. There is no pressure here. There never will be.
This is the beginning. I am glad you are here for it.
